Sustainable Development Goal Commitments
Safety, environmental responsibility and professional integrity.
A reference for responsible choices
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals offer a common reference for social and environmental priorities. The connections below identify areas relevant to TWS Maritime Service's maritime and cargo activities. They reflect TWS's interpretation and do not imply UN membership, partnership, certification or endorsement.
Areas of contribution
- SDG 3 — Good health and well-being: consider occupational health, fatigue and the wellbeing of people involved in attendance planning, alongside the principles of the HSE policy.
- SDG 8 — Decent work and economic growth: support respectful working relationships and appropriate supplier expectations. Target 8.8 offers a reference for labour rights and safe work.
- SDG 9 — Industry, innovation and infrastructure: support the quality of technical inspections and documentation, using suitable tools and contributing within the assigned scope.
- SDG 12 — Responsible consumption and production: examine material use, purchasing and waste associated with TWS activities. Waste prevention and reuse relate to the direction of target 12.5.
- SDG 13 — Climate action: consider climate-related disruption and opportunities for efficient travel planning. An emissions inventory or reduction commitment requires a defined method, baseline and approval.
- SDG 14 — Life below water: pay attention to pollution risks and responsible handling of materials during maritime assignments, with reference to the subject of target 14.1.
- SDG 16 — Peace, justice and strong institutions: connect professional integrity and resistance to bribery with the direction of target 16.5, supported by the Code of Ethics.
From priorities to evidence
Application requires relevant actions, responsible people and realistic measurement boundaries. Any progress statement should distinguish TWS's own activity from outcomes controlled by clients, vessels or terminals.
A link to an SDG does not demonstrate achievement of a global target. These commitments establish directions for conduct; they do not report measured contributions. Indicators, review periods and public performance statements require management approval and supporting evidence. Questions can be sent through Contact TWS.
