TWS Maritime Service Ltda.
Code of Ethics
Transparency, integrity and responsibility in every relationship.
1. Our commitment
Confidence in a survey depends on both technical competence and the integrity of the people performing it. TWS Maritime Service Ltda. conducts its activities with independence, impartiality, respect for the law, safety, and professional responsibility.
This Code guides directors, employees, surveyors, consultants, representatives, and third parties acting on behalf of TWS. We also expect suppliers and business partners to uphold compatible principles.
2. Independence and impartiality
Findings must reflect the evidence, observations, and agreed scope, without commercial pressure or improper preference. Actual, potential, or apparent conflicts of interest must be disclosed before accepting or continuing an assignment. Where independence cannot be preserved, TWS must decline, limit, or withdraw from the activity.
3. Integrity of records and reports
Records, measurements, photographs, times, expenses, documents, and reports must be truthful, verifiable, and sufficiently clear. It is prohibited to omit material facts, falsify evidence, alter findings to suit a third party, or issue conclusions outside the professional's competence or agreed scope.
Errors that are identified must be reported and corrected transparently, with an appropriate audit trail.
4. Anti-bribery and improper advantages
We do not offer, promise, authorize, request, or accept bribes, kickbacks, facilitation payments, or any improper advantage. Gifts, hospitality, and courtesies must never influence a decision, compromise impartiality, or create the appearance of favoritism. Payments and expenses must have a legitimate purpose, appropriate approval, and accurate records.
5. Confidentiality, privacy, and information
We protect information relating to clients, vessels, cargoes, crews, partners, and TWS. Access must be limited to professional need, and disclosure must be authorized, contractually justified, or legally required. Personal data must be processed in accordance with the LGPD and our Privacy Policy.
Confidential or privileged information must not be used for personal benefit or for the benefit of another party.
6. Health, safety, and the environment
No commercial urgency justifies placing people, vessels, facilities, or the environment at undue risk. The rules of the terminal, port, vessel, and workplace must be observed together with applicable procedures and protective equipment requirements. Any professional may stop an activity where a serious risk or unsafe condition exists and must report the matter.
7. Respect in the workplace
We treat every person with dignity and professionalism. Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, retaliation, violence, and illegal labor practices are not tolerated. Professional decisions must be based on merit, qualifications, performance, and legitimate operational requirements.
8. Clients, partners, and fair competition
We compete fairly and describe our capabilities honestly. We do not promise certifications, findings, coverage decisions, or outcomes outside our control. Partners and suppliers are selected using objective criteria, without conflicts of interest or improper advantages.
9. Raising concerns
Suspected violations of this Code, the law, or safety controls should be reported promptly to TWS management through the contact details in the footer. Reports will be considered discreetly and impartially, preserving confidentiality to the extent reasonably possible.
TWS does not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith or assists an investigation. Confirmed violations may result in corrective, disciplinary, or contractual measures and, where appropriate, notification to the competent authorities.
