TWS Maritime Service Ltda.
Sustainability Policy
Safety, environmental responsibility and professional integrity.
Purpose and scope
This policy defines principles for responsible decisions across TWS Maritime Service's maritime and cargo assignments, office activities, travel and purchasing. It guides management, employees and professionals acting on behalf of TWS, with relevant expectations communicated to business partners.
The approach considers impacts that TWS can control and matters it can influence through professional conduct and dialogue. An independent survey does not transfer the responsibilities of a vessel operator, terminal, cargo owner or competent authority to TWS.
Commitments
- Consider health, safety, environmental impacts and ethical conduct when planning and accepting work.
- Support respectful working relationships, appropriate competence and conditions that allow people to raise concerns.
- Use materials and business travel thoughtfully, considering practical opportunities to avoid waste.
- Select suppliers with attention to service quality, lawful conduct and risks relevant to their activities.
- Communicate accurately about service scope and sustainability, with evidence for any performance claim.
These principles apply throughout an assignment, including changes to timing, access or scope. Where expectations cannot be reconciled with safe and responsible delivery, the matter must be escalated before work continues.
Responsibility and application
Management is responsible for assigning responsibilities, communicating these principles and determining suitable resources. Their application should reflect applicable requirements, contractual obligations and the circumstances of maritime attendance.
The Code of Ethics provides the reference for integrity. This policy complements that document and the applicable Terms and Conditions.
Evidence and improvement
Improvement actions should address relevant risks and identify responsible people. Any public indicator requires a defined boundary, source, period and explanation of limitations. Numerical targets require an assessed baseline and explicit management approval.
Reviews should consider observations from assignments, relevant incidents, staff feedback and changes in the business. Findings should support practical improvements.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals provide a reference for broader priorities. Their use does not establish UN affiliation or endorsement. Questions may be sent through Contact TWS.
