Port operations monitoring and supercargo

A port operation involves successive decisions regarding the work sequence, cargo condition and interaction between vessel and terminal. TWS provides Port Captain and Supercargo technical monitoring to support shipowners, charterers and cargo interests during loading and discharge operations. The service transforms field observations into organized information for those who need to monitor the operation and make decisions with context.

Before the attendance, we align the contracting party's instructions, the cargo involved, the stages to be observed and the expected records. Depending on the agreed scope, the monitoring may cover the apparent condition of the cargo, handling practices, operational sequence, stowage and lashing arrangements. Relevant discrepancies are recorded and communicated to the designated responsible parties, allowing measures to be assessed while the operation is in progress.

The analysis considers the characteristics of the cargo, the available documents and the references applicable to the operation, including guidance from the CSS Code and the vessel's lashing manual, where relevant. Technical observation may help identify situations that warrant review before work continues. Specific inspections, calculations or specialized verifications must be expressly defined in the engagement.

The result is an attendance record, including occurrences, authorized photographs, observed limitations and relevant recommendations. This set facilitates communication among the participants and provides a reference for subsequent monitoring of the operation.

We serve clients in Brazil and abroad, with field operations in Northern and Northeastern Brazil, subject to confirmation of location and availability. The Port Captain or Supercargo acts within the mandate received, preserving the responsibilities of the master, crew and terminal personnel in charge. The engagement does not replace mandatory approvals or represent a guarantee against damage, delays or claims.
