When cargo suffers loss or damage, gathering documents is only the beginning. It is necessary to relate what arrived, what was damaged and the values presented to the transport sequence. TWS provides surveys and technical support for loss adjusting in maritime, road and air operations, in accordance with the mandate received and the characteristics of each occurrence.
The work begins with the identification of the goods, the transport legs involved and the transfer or storage points. The survey seeks to document the nature and observable extent of the loss, while the documentary analysis compares shipping, receipt and delivery information. Invoices, commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading or transport documents, reservations and incident reports may form part of this basis, depending on their availability and relevance.
When included in the engagement, the economic assessment considers the affected quantities, substantiated values and the technically feasible alternatives presented for repair, reconditioning or recovery. Quotations, expenses and potential salvage values are examined together with their assumptions and limitations. The resulting estimate supports claims adjusting, without constituting an automatic determination of the indemnifiable amount.
Each mode of transport requires attention to its own documentation and handling stages. In transport chains involving more than one carrier, reconstructing the events helps identify gaps and guide requests for information. The technical analysis must keep the assessment of the loss separate from contractual, insurance or legal issues referred to those responsible for the case.
TWS serves clients in Brazil and abroad, providing field services in Northern and Northeastern Brazil, subject to confirmation of scope, access and availability. We deliver organized information to support well-founded decisions. We do not guarantee recovery of amounts, recognition of coverage or liability of third parties; measures concerning disposal, sale or other disposition of the cargo depend on the relevant authorizations.
